Got in an Accident! (Help)

So. Yeah... This happened.

Fortunately no one got hurt. However, my total car repair bill is a whopping $2500 for everything they see needs to be fixed and replaced... Not fun! Even as the radiator system needs to be entirely replaced, there are also other parts you might see inside where they need to also be looked at. Yuck.

So this has urged me to get some help through commissions because well, this is gonna hurt my wallet for a little while. I am offering just $50 FLAT on a full body, full render, with a choice of a simple or detailed background. Additional characters will just be $25 each. AND if you can only afford small donations, THAT IS AN OPTION! You can redirect yourself to my Ko-Fi page for that. But if you want to receive a sketch from it, DM ME and I'll get that done as a thank you.

DM me if you're interested in commissioning me and we can go from there. I am flexible with payment options via using Ko-Fi or anywhere else. Sharing this around really helps out too, but anything goes. Thank y'all in advance to those who're there to help. (And remember to stay safe out there!)

Sorry about your car.

I just plowed through a lot of my savings to help get ADR3-N out of debt, so I'll probably only get half-body.

Yeah, sure thing. We can work something out in DMs

So what, no insurance? Either way, $2500 is highway robbery. Head to nearest junkyard & find yourself a similar truck, get to replacing. :v

Insurance won't cover it unfortunately, they told me it's all out of my pocket. :/

"I'm not a used car salesperson, I swear. But..."

How much does a decent used car cost where you live? I'm not an expert when it comes to car prices but using a random online portal for used cars (non-US) I'm seeing several 'Mercedes-Benz' for (rounded) $1,000 to $1,500.

Uh where I live it mostly varies by year, so anywhere between 2000-2010 would be between $5k-$10k and anything newer would double or triple the price. (Looking at CarGurus and Kelley Blue Book as my sources.)

@Porter Oh wow...! Those are some _scary_ prices...

I'd like to apologize for something... I easily get caught up in the flow of a conversation and along the way I forget half of what I wanted to address. What I also wanted to say (but neglected to 'actually write down') was:
I'm glad nobody was hurt!

Awe no problem! I appreciate you taking the time to support me along with everyone here. At the end of the day, it could've been way worse.

@Porter Sounds like crap to me... But that aside, yeah, time to go parts swapping.

@CrossVeiw Well maybe don't drive like a fool and there wouldn'ta been enough stress on it to die right then. FFS.

@Yatsufusa @Porter Try Fascistbook marketplace instead. Those are the prices they could be. Usually find stuff on the lower end a lot.

@cacodayum I will take your word for it being a good place to look for that since I never made an account. Like Twitter, Discord, and similar services, I took a closer look and either did not see the appeal or was appalled by their privacy policy.

When Discord was first coming out and got a shout-out by TotalBiscuit, I wrote the company an email, explaining "how sections of their ToS could be 'misunderstood' as being pretty damn malicious." I never got a response, but as it later turned out: That was _the_point_!

try to replace as little as you can for now, try unbending the bumper support instead of replacing it and find some used front end parts. bumpers can be found in white if you look enough which will save you on paint and it'll look close enough to the rest in color.
I'm sorry about the car and I hope you can get the money to fix it soon

@Yatsufusa Discord's fine far as I know. Yeah obviously facebook twitter etc are trash. Everyone knows that. Decent place to sell stuff local tho, depending on your location.

Oh my God. This just happened to me -- not car accident but ridiculous auto repair bill. I was tipped off by a little birdie that this just happened to you, too. That absolutely sucks. I won't have anything to give until the 1st, but please add me to your @ list for updates. NG saved my ass the last month and a half, and I would like to return the favor!

Also @CrimsonKero -- BAD! No blowing through your savings for me. I'm not that important or cool! T_T

Not the insane repair bills! Ugh... It's been a Hellish month on my end, only doing my best out there. I appreciate your support! Will keep an eye out for updates.

@Yatsufusa

@Porter is not kidding. It's about the same where I live. I got an 09 for $10k total after financing charges. That's where they really get you. The blue book of my car is somewhere around 3k lower.

And the monthly rates -- don't get me started on how high they want to go for used car vs new. Lower ofc is worse in the long run but a lot of used car sales, your interest is locked in whether you pay it off quickly or not. I'm currently trying to get out from under my car payments asap as well, in addition to that high ass repair loan that MANY people helped me through.

In short, an old used car will run you up in interest and repairs the same as a new vehicle. It is so much hassle to fix, but even at these gouging prices that's the best we can get. New cars are averaging between 30k and 60k, and 2010-2020 cars are still selling around 20-30k where I've looked. That's if they're even worth buying.

I only got my 09 for 10k because, A, it was 10k, and B, it didn't appear to have many problems despite the mileage. C, the make of the car is known to last well into 300k miles.

@cacodayum @Porter I've had pretty bad experience with Fascistbook marketplace. The cars are sold as is, and if you don't have a solid knowledge of cars when you take it for a test drive, you could buy something with a blown radiator, cracked heads, etc. When it craps out on you a month later, you're assed out and back to the shop for $2500 in repairs T_T

Source, happened to my ex with her $5k Cadillac. Like new outside. Raped and pillaged for parts on the inside.

@bettafish541 Whatever you do, don't let them do the little scanner, if you know for a fact the only thing wrong with it is X collision caused Y damages -- nothing is spewing everywhere, leaking suddenly, and so on. That's how they got me. Suddenly, my cabin air filter needed replaced, my intake gaskets, and so on. Those are repairs you can mostly perform yourself when you change spark plugs, and they'll charge $800 for labor on the gaskets, in addition to $1000 for the sparks. Or flip that around. You're absolutely correct about doing the bare minimum at the shop if you can.

Bro that sucks ASS! Glad to see your not hurt, can’t say the same for your wallet sadly. Hope you get out of this, even if it means skyrocketing your commission prices :(

Good luck man, stay safe.

Thank you, I'm doing my best.

Damn it! The main thing is that you're okay, and you're still alive! I would help you somehow, but unfortunately I'm from Russia, and there's no way I can send you at least $1, even though I don't have enough money myself.
